Dear Parents and Young People
The New Suffolk Waterfront Fund will be providing small plots of land for a community garden this year. If you are interested or would like some more information about gardening at the Waterfront, please call.
The Gardens
• The area to be gardened is located between the Barn and Legends on First Street on the Waterfront property.
• The soil has been tested and it is fertile and completely non toxic.
• We have placed on the area a layer of topsoil, covered with a layer of composted material.
• The plots will be ready by the end of the week (May 15) for planting vegetables and flowers that are bug repellant such as maragolds.
• The garden plot will be your responsibility to weed, water, and pick .
• You will need to provide your own seeds and plants.
• You will need to bring your own tools, such as rakes, hoes (if you need one), trowels, and then take them away also. Water is available from a hose from the Ho with a sprinkler.
• There are, currently, no toilet facilities available.
If you have other questions, and/or you would like to reserve a plot for you and/or your family, please call as soon as possible.
